Day 2 & 3

Ok you caught me, yes, i procrastinate and i didn’t even do my 2nd blog entry.  So fuck the cleanse i didn’t sleep a wink the day before last night, i woke up and ate some wendy’s chicken nuggets, and they were the best.  I would not suggest a cleanse on anyone, they do not work.  All you have to do is eat right, you do not have to eat crazy (cleanses are crazy even short ones).  The whole day after the cleanse i ate bad.  I did work out though.  Losta basketball at least burnt all the calories i got from mrs. wendys’.  Fuck cleanses, if you want to randomly start treating your body right.  All you have to do is start eating right.  There is no period where you cleanse your body of the bad food.  You just start eating good food and the bad food naturally cleanses itself.

I am a little drunk because i went to a cook out (when u r at a spring cookout to eat good, ust eat the non-breaded chicken, collard greens, corm, and legumes(beans) and you are good, (which is what i did).  But for some reason i drove home crying then went up to the forest. then drove around my neighborhood for about an hour balling my eyes out, and i don’t even know why.  Maybe it’a because i have never felt love other then love that has to be there (fMILY).  Oh well i am drunk, and i can still follow good food choices.  And so should you!

I did 20mins of ab ripper x because i had no time from the time i woke up to the time i had to be at my BBQ.  But when you do it by itself without doing an our of something else, your’ abs fell shredded.  After Id runk my protein shake of strawberry, whey power, and banana. Did my routine, but had to put the menthol infused lotion below my lip because it was chapping and itching.  Then biore nourish 15 spf lotionall over my face, over the Biore Skin Genesis which works the bomb.  Even when I am chuggin the Vodka!  And when i cam back from the party alll drunk and stuff.  Do a quick cleanse with nuetrogena gentle oil-free salicylic acid wash.  And my skin is pimple and imperfection free.

Day 1: The cleanse

Hours of sleep: 9hrs in and out  Weight: 167.8  Caloric In-take:700

Since I randomly decided to do this.  I had to start on day 3 of p90x which is Arms and Shoulders followed by Abs X.  I would advise starting in the morning on an empty stomach.  If this isn’t a good time for you, just remember you should always wait atleast 1 hour after eating before doing a heavy workout routine.  It was exhausting and I feel pretty good after doing it.  Followed right after with about 8oz of water 1 banana, and 3 strawberries mixed together really well in a Blender until it had a smoothie consistency.  I then added 1 cup of whey protein and mixed for 20 seconds because it always has too much air/foam if you mix starting with the fruit.

I also shot some basketball for about 30minutes.

My Cleanse:

I don’t believe in most of these fad cleanses that have no protein that last way to long.  After awhile of your body not getting the right amount of nutrients which include fat and protein it goes into starvation mode.  Making your body hold onto any extra calories from fat and protein and turning it into fat cells just in case you start starving again it has that extra energy to keep you alive.  It is a natural process that our bodies have learned since the dawn of man. From when we would go days without good.  Which is another reason our minds tell us to keep eating even after we are full.  But I did need to clear out my system so why not try a tiny 2 day cleanse of fruit and whey protein with lots of water.  It shouldn’t put me into starvation mode but should clean out the bad fat and chemicals I’ve been eating recently.  It really couldn’t hurt right?

So basically 3 times a day I am mixing two types of fruit, with one scoop of whey protein, and 80z of water in a blender.   My first is after my morning workout.  From what I’ve heard and read about, it’s best to get some protein, antioxidants, and vitamins in your system within the 1hour window after your workout because your muscles and other organs are primed for nourishment.  It took me a while to drink my post workout shake because I was little nauseous and dizzy.  But my second one was awesome and delicious.  I waited about 3 hrs after my first to make my second one.  I will do the same for my last one.  I am not starving or anything today.  So hopefully tomorrow will be the same way.  I do love to eat after all.

Skin Care:

I have combination skin.  Which means it gets oily in my T-zone (forehead and nose bridge).  I also have random acne breakouts all over my face, shoulders, and back.  It is mild at the moment because I keep it under control with many different products.  I also have large pores on my nose and on my cheek area by my nose.  I think this was caused when I was little from sun damage and bad peeling.  I am hoping that my skin care regimen along with the changes in my diet and exercise will completely eradicate my acne and help reduce my pore size.

Today post workout-post post workout smoothie during my post work out shower.  I do love using that post suffix ;).  I used a Salicylic Acne Scrub (use once every 3 days on entire face and every time you shave on hair follicles) lightly scrubbing my face avoiding the sides of my nose under my nostrils and the areas under my chin that tend to over dry and peel, followed by a Panoxyl Bar (which is a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide bar) over my face avoiding the same areas, shoulders, chest and back.  I only leave it on my face for about 40seconds.  Because it tends to dry out my face and peel If I leave it on too long.

I use one of those round loofahs from Bath & Body Works because they are the most exfoliating out of any I have found lathered with Olay Quench Body Wash to wash my body.  I haven’t shaved or tanned in awhile so I don’t use a Post Shower Moisturizer  ATM.  I would suggest that everyone uses one.  Because the skin on your body is just as important as the skin on your face.  When I do I will give my reviews on the different lotions I already have.

After my shower I use Korresnatural Evening Primrose eye cream for my dark circles and anti aging (you can find this at Sephorah’s or online) I have had it for like 7 months so it is worth the 30 or so $s.  It has greatly reduced my dark circles but I still have to use concealer sometimes to hide them totally.  I then use L’oreal Skin Genesis on the areas of my face with large pores.  Followed by either Aloe Vera if my face feels overly cleansed (red, really shiny, and taunt) to prevent peeling.  Or which I used today Biore’ nourish oil-free moisture lotion with SPF 15.  Always use some kind of SPF 15+ on your face if you are going outside.  Since I shaved and am prone to ingrown hairs/razor irritation I used Neutrogena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion.

Before I go to sleep I wash with a light Salicylic Acid Face Wash to prevent acne breakouts using  Primrose Eye Cream, Skin Genesis first, and then after it dries Biore’ hard day’s night overnight moisturizer.

About my Total Package Project

I noticed all these fitness routines, diet trends, skin care lines, and fads floating in our media everywhere you looked.  I’ve tried a bunch of them with varying results.  Never really sticking to any one thing or routine and letting a general lack of enthusiasm take over my life.  So one day I decided to just go with my instinct, pick a routine and stick with it for 90 days.  I made this blog to keep myself honest and to serve as a platform for others to start their own total body routines.

I suffer from Allergies, Mild Depression, Insomnia, Irritable Bowl Syndrome, Mild Acne and a Small Weight Issue.  I believe that most of this is due to my lack of activity, diet, random sleep schedule, and severe procrastination.  What I am hoping to get out of this is a cure to all those things and as a side effect a great body with clear and healthy skin.  I have decided not use any over the counter medication or unnatural supplements to help me on my journey.  Besides whey power protein, vitamins, and natural remedies.  If I do decide to change my mind on this I will let you know.  This is a personal decision that no one should decide upon without talking to their doctor first.  I am not under any prescription medication at the moment so this was an easy decisions for me.

Each day I will post my weight, the food that I ate, the exercises I’ve done, and my skin care regimen.  Along with optional daily political/random news opinions.  I believe enable to get total body wellness, you need to exercise, eat the right foods, stay away from unneeded medication (unless advised by your doctor) and yes have good skin care.  I feel your skin is the most important organ in your body.  It is the first thing people see and it is the first line of defense against bacteria, diseases,  pollution and harmful rays from the sun.

The food you put into your body should be the most important decision you make everyday.  Chemicals, unnatural fats and sugars, man-made preservatives, and to much of the same thing all cause health issues.  I know it is hard to eat right in the U.S. with most of our food market directed towards these processed foods.  Which is why we have such a problem with obesity.  But these companies aren’t forcing the stuff down your throat,  you are the only one who can decide what you put into your body.  It is time for America and myself to make a change in the way we eat.  So I have decided to go on a 2 day fruit, water, and whey powder cleanse.  Followed by a mostly organic, dairy free, fiber and protein rich diet that only includes natural sugars and fat from olive oil, fruits and vegetables.  I will also be using a whey powder protein mix which is not considered organic but it is the best I’ve found for a low calorie, quick and easy protein boost post workout.

I will be using P90x classic version DVD set for my exercise along with other outdoor activities.  This does not mean you have to go out and buy this exact product,  it is just better for me because I am not a personal trainer and cannot afford one or a gym membership at the moment.  I want a 6-pack with good definition so a hardcore 6 days a week routine is what I need for my results. It all depends on what is best for you and the type of results you are looking for.   If you are the same kind of person that doesn’t like going to the gym but wants good results a DvD workout routine is best for you.  If you need someone right there with you helping you train a gym membership and/or personal trainer is best for you.  If you just like to play sports, go running or power walking,  or have a physically demanding job that keeps you in shape that is great.  As long as you have some sort of exercise for at least 1 hour a day you will be fine.

If you happen to come across this blog and would like to follow my routine please feel free too!  That is the whole reason I am sharing my journey with you.

If you are extremely overweight/out of shape and/or have severe medical conditions please consult a doctor before starting any change in your diet or fitness routine.  Any and all results may vary because we all have different bodies.  Please feel free to ask questions of me and other readers.  If I don’t know the answer from my experience I will do my best to research the issue and back up my answers with links to further support you.  Remember I am not an expert in nutrition, fitness, or dermatology.  I will try to link and post articles from experts to support my decisions but most of my writing should be taken at face value.  I have not been compensated for products or services reviewed or expressed in this blog as of yet.  I will change disclaimer if such does occur.  All of the content is of my own opinion, not backed by any company and/or corporation.
